Please read Jennie of the Jungle's (JOJ's) terms & conditions carefully before submitting your online reservation form. By checking the box beside the words "I have read and agree to these legal terms & conditions" on the online application form, you agree to the following terms & conditions:
Travel
The volunteer is solely responsible for catching all flights and in-country transport arranged by JOJ. It is the responsibility of the volunteer to obtain and carry all necessary documents when traveling. While JOJ may advise the volunteer on required travel documentation, they are not responsible for any supporting documents necessary for the volunteer's travel needs or other purposes. Volunteers are responsible for ensuring their travel documents are up to date and valid for travel.
Insurance
JOJ does not provide the volunteer with insurance of any kind. Travel insurance is mandatory for each volunteer, and the volunteer will purchase this prior to departing on the trip. The volunteer is solely responsible for evaluating and determining the type, extent and level of any insurance coverage for their planned volunteer travel period. However, it must cover their entire travel period.
Payments and Payment Plans
Details of package prices and their inclusions/exclusions are listed on JOJ's website.
A deposit of $50 is required to hold the volunteer's spot on the trip of their choice. Thereafter, payments will be made over a period discussed and decided by JOJ and the volunteer. Invoices will be emailed to the volunteer on a monthly basis, for the payment period decided. Late or missed payments will be subject to a $50 late fee. If three or more payments are missed and JOJ receives no communication from the volunteer, the volunteer's spot on the trip will be forfeited with no refund.
Invoices are to be paid via PayPal. However, if the volunteer opts to pay via bank or wire transfer, the volunteer is responsible for any associated transfer fees.
Transferability
Packages are not transferable to other persons.
Refund Policy
JOJ cannot offer refunds on deposits made to hold the volunteer's spot on a trip. No package refunds will be given for cancellations later than 60 days before the project start date. For cancellations before this time, a $150 fee will be assessed. This policy also applies to cancellations or interruptions due to circumstances outside JOJ’s control (although in such a case JOJ will attempt to find alternative volunteer projects or other travel activities in the same region and will give a credit towards the cost of an alternative project at a later date or in a different country.
JOJ reserves the right to cancel or curtail a program if, in their sole discretion, they believe that circumstances warrant it. This shall include Force Majeure, including but not limited to Acts of God, war, acts of terrorism, riot or civil commotion, fire, strike or government intervention). In such event, the volunteer shall be entitled to a return of any monies paid less any irrecoverable amount spent by JOJ.
If the volunteer’s behavior leads to dismissal from the project or if the volunteer chooses to leave the project early for any reason, JOJ shall not be responsible for any part of the volunteer's travel, lodging or subsistence arrangements outside the JOJ program.
Communication
Emails from JOJ contain information intended solely for the addressee, which is confidential or private in nature. Use of any kind by anyone other than the intended recipient is prohibited and may be unlawful.
Information contained in JOJ's email, and any attachments thereto, is for information purposes only and may contain the personal views and opinions of the author. JOJ does not accept liability for any claims, loss or damages of whatsoever nature, arising as a result of reliance on such information.
While all reasonable steps are taken to ensure the accuracy and integrity of information transmitted electronically and to preserve the confidentiality thereof, JOJ accepts no liability or responsibility if information or data is, for any reason, incorrect, corrupted or does not reach its intended destination.
By applying to volunteer you agree to receive online interactions, text messages, and phone calls from JOJ.
Personal Risks
The volunteer acknowledges and accepts the responsibilities and risks associated with their agreement to travel to, temporarily live in and provide volunteer services in a developing country. Such travel and volunteer work can often be hazardous and involve risk and inherently dangerous activities, and place the volunteer in personal peril, both foreseen and unforeseen, all of which are fully accepted by and solely assumed by the volunteer. The standard of living, including food, hygiene and accommodation in the project country may be below the general standards of the volunteer's own country.
The volunteer and their family agree, therefore, to the maximum extent permissible by law, not to hold JOJ liable for any loss or harm the volunteer may suffer, including but not limited to loss caused directly or indirectly by: personal injury, emotional injury, death, illness or disease, damage to or loss of property, hostage situations, war or terrorism, or natural disasters.
Indemnity
The volunteer and volunteer's family agree to indemnify JOJ against any and all liability which JOJ incurs arising directly or indirectly out of, or in connection (in any way) with, the volunteer's travel to, living in and providing services in the project country.
Drug and Alcohol Use
The volunteer must abide by the rules put in place by the partner organization or host family as regards alcohol consumption. Drug use (unless prescribed by a doctor) is strictly prohibited and will result in instant dismissal from the program.
Privacy Policy
All online payments are processed through a secure third party site who do not provide JOJ with sensitive information such as credit card details.
Information provided in the online application forms and extra details forms is collected solely for internal use by JOJ.

JOJ reserves the right to use feedback and images provided by volunteers for website materials such as testimonials.
